Stacy Peterson Illustration

This illustration was created by Stacy Peterson, if you could not make out the name in the upper right hand corner. She is an artist for Blasco Creative Artists. I came across these two images in WORKBOOK Volume 33. What I like about her technique is that it is not over thought. Also there is not a whole lot of distraction from the main object (in these cases it is the raccoon or the beaver). She illustrates both animals with very few colors and almost no shading. This makes her image look cut and paste stylized. The simplicity is what I can appreciate. She develops both animals to perfectly fit into a children's book.

Green Mountain Coffee

This is an illustration I found from a book in the library titled: WORKBOOK Volume 33. It is a published book filled with great inspiration from many award winning graphic designers. I chose this volume in particular because it is the Spring 2013 edition, which is fairly recent. The credit for this particular piece goes to Miles Hyman who works for Lindgren & Smith Artist Representatives. What attracted me to his illustration is the organic and peacefulness of the piece. The Green Mountain Coffee label is the center of the piece appropriately, without any unnecessary words. In the distance is a lawn chair which overlooks some body of water. What I like about his illustration is that the audience is set in a peach tree and is almost peeping in. As opposed to some advertisements are very in your face and bright. The illustration speaks for itself.
